Paying for Background Checks and Motor Vehicle Record Checks

Your organization has the option to pay for any Background or Motor Vehicle Record Check that you need your volunteers to complete in order to work with your organization. You can also elect for volunteers to cover the cost of the check - either way, it's $20 for a background check, and $25 for a Motor Vehicle Check.
On each Opportunity, you can choose to pay for the check yourself or have the volunteer pay for it - this means you can pay for checks for certain opportunities and not others.
**Note: the Organizer (you) decides who pays for the Background Check (not the volunteer). In addition to setting the default in Settings, you can also override this for certain Opportunities if you wish.
How to Set Up Your Payment
First, you'll need to add your payment information.
Navigate to Settings > Billing on the left menu. Then click the third tab at the top - “Checks Payment Method”. Select which type of checks you'd like to cover, and add your credit card information. Don't forget to include the email address of who should receive the receipt!
How to get a Volunteer to Run a Background / MVR Check
Need a volunteer to get a background check done? It's built into registration - that means the system will guarantee that every registered participant has passed the check (and you'll be notified if anyone doesn't pass!).This can happen in one of two ways:
Option 1: When creating a new opportunity or editing your existing opportunity, simply require a background check in the Editing screen.
Option 2: Create a new "Flexible" Opportunity that clearly is intended for the volunteer to just do the check. You could title it "Sign up here to complete your Background Check"!
