How do I sign up a group of people for an Opportunity?

Last Update 2 years ago
Many volunteers take action on their own, but many others may want to bring friends, coworkers, and even children at family-friendly opportunities!
Hands On Atlanta makes it easy for any volunteer to sign up multiple individuals for an opportunity on the volunteer portal or for organizers via the Dashboard.
There are 3 different situations in which a point-person may try to sign up a group all at once:
- For volunteers via the Volunteer Portal
- For Opportunity Hosts via the Dashboard
- For corporate or school organizers via the Dashboard

Add a "+1" (or more!)
Most Hands On Atlanta Opportunities allow Volunteers to add "+1's" during the signup process. Simply select the options shown in the below screenshots and add their information to reserve a spot for guests (note that some Opportunities do not allow +1's, so that option may not be available).
For Opportunity Hosts via the Dashboard
Manually register volunteers with "Add Participant Sessions":
Organizers and admins have the option to manually add participants to an opportunity from the Participants tab by using the "Add Participant Sessions" feature.
You will have an option to type/choose your participants from a drop-down menu, or you can use a spreadsheet to upload participants. If you are adding participant sessions for an opportunity that has already past you can also directly add hours for the uploaded participants.
For Corporate or School organizers via the Dashboard
Sign up volunteers for opportunities hosted by 3rd parties:
Our "Curate" section is used by organizers to find Opportunities hosted by 3rd parties - like companies searching for local non-profits on behalf of their employees.
Each Opportunity found in the "Curate" section can either be recommended to your volunteers (your volunteers will receive a notification!) or you can click Sign Up to directly register participants for an opportunity (and they'll receive a confirmation email!).
Best practice tip: This option is great for companies who want to add their employees to opportunities!
