What do I do if I have volunteers who share an email address?

Hands On Atlanta uses “email address” to distinguish between individual volunteers (if you have 2 volunteers with the same name, they’ll have different email addresses).

Therefore, we require that each volunteer have their own email address. BUT THERE IS AN EXCEPTION TO THIS!!

Situation 1: You always volunteer together

This could be

  • A couple that shares an email address and volunteers together
  • A parent + child combo that volunteers together

In this case, the “primary volunteer” should use the “Bring a Friend of Child” feature during sign-up in the Volunteer Portal.

When using this feature (the “+1’s”!), you are NOT required to assign an email address to your +1. Hands On Atlanta will automatically assign the email address of the primary volunteer (aka the parent who is putting their email down when signing up with the child).

Situation 2:

  • Couple shares an email address but sometimes volunteers separately.

In this case, you'll need to use our "no volunteer email" work-around.
