How to create an Opportunity (AKA: How to post a project!)

It's simple to add your volunteer opportunities to the Hands On Atlanta network from within the Partner Portal! When creating your Opportunity, you have access to all of the controls for audience, timing, description, and more. You can choose to submit your draft or safe it for later. Remember, Hands On Atlanta will approve or request revisions for your submitted project within 1-2 business days. There are a few different ways you can do it:
Option 1: Start from scratch.
When you log in, the Dashboard is the first thing you'll see... and right there at the top right, is a blue button that says 'Create Opportunity'.

Once you click that button, the Opportunity Editor will pop up. It'll prompt you to fill out all the necessary information - from time/date/location to the vibe of the project.

From here, just navigate through the tabs, review the preview, and hit 'Submit!'
Option 2: Use a Template
In your Opportunities > My Opportunities section, you'll find a section of Templates right underneath the Active section. These are opportunities we have pre-populated some fields with, based on common projects we see partners use frequently. Using these will save you time! Learn more about how to create your own templates here.

Click the three little dots next to the one you want to use, and you'll be able to create an opportunity off of the template.

Option 3: Duplicate one of your existing Opportunities.
Another time saver! Once you've created your first opportunity, you can just hit the duplicate button. The Opportunity Editor will pop up with all of your responses from the original Opportunity already filled out - you just go in and edit any changes (usually, the date and time).
The Duplicate button can be found next to the Opportunity in your Dashboard, or next to the opportunity in your Opportunities section.

We have a whole section of articles on Opportunities you can browse - including what makes an Opportunity GREAT, and how to share the opportunity once you've created it.
