Welcome to the Hands On Atlanta family of nonprofit partners! We’re glad you’re here. 😊

To make it easy for you to get started right away using your new account on our network, we’ve created a simple guide for you. Click the links to learn more about how to take each step.

First, you’ll need to activate your account. Once you activate your account for the very first time using those instructions, you’ll be able to log in straight from the Hands On Atlanta homepage, by going to Partner > Partner Dashboard. Bookmark this page!

Then you’ll want to update your organizational profile – this info displays when a volunteer clicks on your organization’s name inside the portal, and it helps them get to know you a little better.

Next, add other staff members as users. Add everyone on your staff who’ll need to post projects, see volunteer lists, or monitor your engagement insights. Please don't remove the Hands On Atlanta or Golden users, they are there to provide tech support when needed.


Now it’s time to create your first project – woohoo! Remember, once you submit the project, you can expect Hands On Atlanta to approve it within 1-2 business days – then, it’ll be live for volunteers to register for! We may send it back with revisions or recommendations, especially if it’s outside of our project policies.

Don’t forget that all opportunities must be submitted at least 2 weeks before the project date. And, you can consult our in-house research on best times to engage, as well as get some guidance on high performing posts!


Now that your project is live, your volunteers will be receiving automatic emails, and you as the organizer will be receiving automatic emails too. You can send them emails outside of those, too! You may need to go back and edit your shifts, or you might have to cancel the project if something comes up. That’s all OK!


When project day rolls around, use the Check-In Kiosk to get volunteers signed in! And don’t forget to verify their hours within 5 business days (but… if you use the Check-In AND Check-Out Kiosk, you can skip going back in later to do that!)


We highly recommend getting into the Insights section to evaluate how your volunteer program is doing – seriously, there’s tons of cool metrics to monitor.
